With Financial Planning month now in full swing, we thought we'd take a chance to share our favorite books for learning about finance. I believe it's our job as leaders to be financially literate in order to better support and develop our teams. It's imperative that we help everyone grow professionally AND personally, and this is one of the most useful topics to teach, IMO.
All-Time Favorite:
I Will Teach You to Be Rich by Ramit Sethi is a practical, no-nonsense guide to mastering personal finance, offering strategies on budgeting, saving, investing, and automating finances. For leaders mentoring others, this book equips them with clear, actionable advice to empower their followers to make smart financial decisions, develop wealth-building habits, and achieve long-term financial security.
Great for Couples:

Leaders mentoring others can use this book to guide couples in making informed financial decisions, fostering open money conversations, and creating a shared vision for their financial future.
Military Specific:
The Military Money Manual by Spencer C. Reese offers clear financial strategies tailored for service members, covering topics like saving, investing, and leveraging military benefits. Leaders mentoring military personnel can use this book to help their followers make the most of unique financial opportunities, build long-term wealth, and achieve financial independence during and after their service.
